8 month old babies are still dependent.
nav was sitting on the couch last night beside renz & i was on the floor leaning on the couch.
it was just a split second,
a wink in time,
and as i saw nav fall from the couch to the floor it was as if i was watching a movie with slow motion effect, i wanted to catch him and prevent his head from hitting the ground but for reasons unknow to me, i couldn't move (toodoooodoooodoooo - todooodooodooo). By the time renz & i could react, nav was already on the ground, head first! (Yes, aaaawwwwwouch!)
Panic sort of took over as renz quickly picked him up and checked for injuries & huhgged him while blurting, "Oh, ,my good nesss! Oh, my goodness!..."
I think nav was shocked but didn't realize it 'til he ws picked up! & I think he began to cry, yes because of the pain of hitting your face on the ground, but also in response to the panicky (?) response of his parents.
I really felt like a bad, uncaring, unattentive parent after that. GUILT was nipping at me as I began to hink what if it wasn't on the couch... what if it was outside... what if...
it's one of those things learning experiences, for us as parents and nav too i guess, though the innocent victim in all this.
oh, btw - nav was back to his jolly self after 10 mins... & no major injuries, just a bruised cheek... & i'm praying that that would be all.
3:00am
(it's dark & quiet outside. the dim lamp is on in the bedroom. nav slowly wakes up between his sleeping parents)
nav: mmm-ba! mmm-ba! mmm-ba! (babytalk). TRANSLATION: mom & dad wake-up! i want to play! wake-up! wake-up! wake-up!
chad: (half-awake) renz where's the milk?
renz: zzzzzzzz..... huh? andya....
nav: mmm-ba! mmm-ba! Translation: i don't want milk! i want to play! carry me! no! no! sing to me!
chad: (rolls off bed, picks up nav & begins to hum, Through It All)
( renz wakes up and goes to the w.c.)
nav: (sees mom go out of the room) mmm-ba! mmm-ba! mmm-ba! Translation: I want to go with mom! I want to go outside! mom, take me with you!
(chad keeps on humming & begins to do the bo-bo by Fantasia Barrino)
nav: aaaaa... aaaaa.... TRANSLATION: i sing to you Lord a hymn of love for your faithfulness to me....
(renz gets back in the room)
nav: mmm-ba! mm-ba! TRANLATION: mom take me! take me!
(chad gives nav to renz & they go to the window, it's still dark outside)
nav: mmm.. mmm... mmm... TRANSLATION: it's still dark outside. hey waht's that light? haey who's that?...
(renz closes the window, hands nav back to chad. they slump back to bed)
nav: mmm-ba! mmm-ba! mmm-ba! TRANSLATION: hey what's the big idea? don't you guys want to... (chad give nav the bottle and chugs it.)
(sound of milk bottle getting sucked.)
(the three finally dozes off)
3:40am
monday
nav : hohumm, what a beautiful day. i had a great night. i only woke up once because i really wanted milk. i think that was 4 am. daddy woke up first when he heard me cry, mom was awakened also but he just gave me a kiss and went back to sleep. she was probably thinking that dad was awake already so she can go on snoozing...wait...what time is it? oh it's 7 am....both of them are still sleeping...WAKE UUPP!!!
daddy (chad) :still groggy...nava, it;s monday today, i have no work today, can we all sleep in?
nav : don't you do that everyday? 
just kidding...okay you can go back to sleep and i'll wake mommy up instead.
daddy : i don't really say this but ill say it this time - good luck! let's see if you can wake up your mom...ha!ha! ho hum...zzzzz
nav : mommy sweetie, i'm awake already..you can start kissing me as what you love doing...i'm ready for play, for tumbling, for walking and for other things that you like to do to me...tickles, kisses and hugs
mommy (renee):...i need some coke
nav : are you sleep talking again mom?!?
mommy : what? where are my socks?
nav : you just said yes to my question...ate bing!!!
